Prep
Curriculum
Within our Prep school, we believe in nurturing the whole child, and our approach to education focuses on developing not only academic skills, but also social and emotional intelligence.

The KS2 Curriculum
Our Key Stage 2 curriculum draws on the Welsh national curriculum, providing a solid foundation in core subjects such as maths, science, and literacy, as well as opportunities to explore humanities, modern languages, and performing arts.

We recognise the benefits of outdoor learning in promoting physical health, enhancing cognitive development, and fostering a love of nature. That's why we have established Discovery School, our outdoor learning programme, where students spend one day each week engaging in hands-on, experiential learning in our beautiful natural surroundings. Through activities such as forest schools, gardening, and environmental studies, students develop practical skills, teamwork, resilience, and a deep appreciation of the natural world.
Supportive & Inclusive
While our approach is more traditional and academic in Key Stage 2, we recognise that each child learns differently and has unique strengths and interests. Our teachers work closely with each student to identify their individual learning style and provide personalised support and challenge.

At Castle School's Prep, we aim to equip our students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in their journey to Key Stage 3 and beyond. We provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop a lifelong love of learning and reach their full potential.
